hospital central services association lAUNDRy PROCESSING FACILITY

Graham provided preconstruction and construction services for the development of a new laundering process facility for the Hospital Central Services Association (HCSA) in Auburn, Washington. This new 145,821-square-foot building uses state-of-the-art laundry equipment to serve the laundry needs for five major hospitals located in the Puget Sound area. The equipment can produce 28 million pounds of clean laundry, scalable to 60 million pounds of laundry, annually.

The facility shell consists of conventional concrete tilt panel construction, structural steel, metal joists and decking covered with a TPO roof membrane. The interior tenant improvements include office spaces, maintenance shops and employee break rooms complete with shower facilities. Graham also coordinated the installation of the laundry equipment as it arrived from overseas for installation.

The construction of this building started in the fall of 2012, which put the project in the local rainy season. Graham coordinated and scheduled its subcontractors to best mitigate the rainy season to keep the schedule impacts down to a minimum.
