Multiple New Industrial Contracts Awarded to Graham

Graham's Earthworks, Underground and Piling group was recently awarded three notable contracts. Building on Graham's successful execution of the Canadian Natural Resource's MFT Soil Salvaging Project, the Earthworks, Underground and Piling group have two new contracts at the Horizon Oil Sands Project related to the Phase 2 Mine Expansion.

The first contract is the MFT Early Works Project constructing the interconnection of the existing plant site to the newly developed mine face initiated in the previous soil salvaging contract. This CDN$30 million project includes stripping, common excavation, fill placement, culverts, case bored and horizontally drilled road crossings, geotextile and surface works aggregate installation. The team mobilized this month with the project scheduled for completion by December 2013, although additional work scopes are likely to extend the engagement.

The second contract is for the Tailings Transfer Plant Extraction Trains 3-4 CWP 200 Piling Project. This CDN$10 million project involves construction of cast in place piles required to extend the basal water flow pumping system from the existing plant to the proposed pump house village being constructed for the new mine face. Utilizing two of Graham's drill crews to install 600 to 1220 mm (24 to 40 inches) diameter piles from between 46 to 92 ft. (14 to 28 m) in depth, this project required fast track mobilization and will be completed by December 2013.

And finally, the Piling group was also recently awarded work for the Crossings Substation component of the West Alberta Transmission Line Project. Working directly for Siemens Canada to install close to CDN$2 million worth of composite pipe piles, this project further builds on the piling team's transmission line portfolio.
